Allow us to bring Charleston to your front door!

We are all about travel here at Charleston Culinary Tours. There isn’t anything better than experiencing a new location through the cuisine, culture, people and historical sites unique to that area. Helping visitors experience the best that Charleston has to offer is at the heart and soul of Charleston Culinary Tours. Our experienced and friendly tour guides not only treat our guests to the best eating there is in the Charleston area, but their friendly conversation and historical knowledge is the icing on the cake!

While we have had to put our tours on hold for the time being as our country recovers from the effects of Covid-19, we haven’t stopped making plans for things we’ll have in store for you when businesses and restaurants are able to reopen. We are committed to supporting and helping local businesses recover. In fact, one of our recent blogs detailed some specific ways all of us can support local restaurants right now.

We are thrilled to introduce a delicious way that we can support businesses while also delivering a taste of Charleston to your front door! After all, one of the main reasons visitors come to Charleston is to enjoy the creative culinary adventure that awaits! While you are waiting to come to Charleston in person, enjoy this delicious Charleston Gift Box. Or, better, yet, enjoy one yourself and send a few as gifts to those who could use a pick me up. Here is a highlight of what you have in store! One of the best parts? You will enjoy over $100 worth of product for just $75 shipped!

With your package, you’ll also gain exclusive access to our unboxing and preparation video tips from Guilds Hollowell, owner and founder of Charleston Culinary Tours and Chef Kyle Yarbrough, Executive chef at La Fourchette. As an added bonus, everyone that purchases before May 15th will receive Palmettos and Pluff Mudd a collection of short stories from Guilds about his life growing up in and around Charleston.

And, without further ado, let’s go ahead and take a peek at what you’ll receive in this delicious box.

Most of the items come from our friends over at Food for the Southern Soul whose mission is to create gourmet foods that are a celebration of things they love about Charleston and South Carolina Lowcountry. And, they do it so well! The backstory of this business is fascinating, but more importantly, the high-quality Southern pantry items are impressively delicious.

Stone Ground Grits – Charleston Favorites™ Grits are made from select Southern corn and ground on an authentic millstone. These stone-ground grits cook up smooth and creamy to serve alongside bacon and eggs, or as the star of your shrimp and grits.

Charleston Gold Aromatic Rice – Lavington Farms Charleston Gold Aromatic Rice, the aromatic offspring of the much-heralded Carolina Gold variety, is characterized by its golden hull and nutty flavor. Cultivated and harvested in the lowcountry of South Carolina, Lavington Farms Charleston Gold Aromatic Rice represents the perfect marriage of the quintessential southern staple and delectable Indian basmati rice.

Plantation Pralined Pecans – These delicious treats are perfect for a snack or to serve at a cocktail party. Simply mouth-watering!

Benne Wafers – The Benne Wafer is a thin cookie, made with tasty toasted sesame. There is a long-standing culinary history in Charleston for this very unique sweet treat. Serve with Pimento Cheese as an appetizer or make bite-size ice cream sandwiches for dessert.

BlackJack Barbecue Sauce – A mild, tomato-based sauce with hints of vinegar, coffee and Worcestershire sauce, this all-around barbecue sauce will satisfy the choosiest of barbecue enthusiasts. Use as a tasty finishing sauce on the grill for pork barbecue, beef brisket, chicken and pork tenderloin, or as a table sauce for dipping.

BlackJack Barbecue Dry Rub – Loaded with spices including pepper, chili powder, paprika and oregano our Dry Rub tenderizes meat before cooking and creates a delicious “mahogany bark” on your finished product.

And, we’ve snuck in a few other delectable treats from a few other local artisans.

Callie’s Buttermilk Biscuit Mix – If you haven’t had the privilege of tasting Callie’s mouthwatering biscuits in person, then this is the next best thing. This simple mix is easy to prepare with a few basic staple ingredients and your house will smell like heaven in no time. Your mouth will think it’s gone to heaven when biting into one of these pillowy biscuits.

Blue Pearl Farms Raw Wild Harvest Honey – Straight from the blueberry farm apiary and the wild plants in the Francis Marion National Forest, Blue Pearl Farms here in Charleston brings this delicious raw honey to your table. It’s sooo tasty!

We hope you and yours are all doing well during this time and we hope to see you again soon. Please don’t hesitate to call us with questions about future travel. Allow us to make your future trip to Charleston deliciously memorable.
