If you’ve made your way through the essential brunch restaurants in Charleston and still yearn for another mimosa in a different setting, we present this list of the hot new spots servicing the early crowds. To be on the Brunch Heatmap, these establishments must be less than a year old (with some consideration for those barely over the mark or changes in the kitchen).
Note: Restaurants not ranked.
1 Scram
If mimosas aren’t a necessity for brunch, stop by breakfast-focused food truck Scram for crullers, cinnamon buns, and egg sandwiches with ham, piña jam, and gruyere. The truck comes from highly praised pastry chef Melanie Durant.
Those in search of seafood towers, crab benedicts, and shrimp toasts for brunch should stop by recently opened Rappahannock Oyster Bar. The Virginia-based eatery renovated a space in the Cigar Factory to open in Charleston.
If weekends were missing sliced leg of lamb with fried eggs or Greek Easter bread French toast with sour cherries and yogurt, then newcomer Stella’s can satisfy those brunch needs. On Sundays, Greek restaurant Stella’s will offer a Mediterranean-influenced morning menu.

4 1 Broad St. Brunch at Normandy Farm Bakery
Chef Kevin Getzewich joins the Normandy Farm Bakery team as they plan to open a breakfast/lunch/happy hour restaurant at 1 Broad St. In preparation for forthcoming eatery, Getzewich is testing out brunch menu items at 19 Broad St. It’s global-inspired, carb-heavy, West-Coast-meets-Upper-West-Side type of fare. Look for bialys, babka, and tamagoyaki.
Mount Pleasant stunner Grace & Grit provides a brunch of Southern staples and seafood-heavy plates. Try the local catch po’ boy or the country ham Benedict.
