Our Favorite Food Trucks of the Moment!

It feels like Charleston is experiencing a food truck renaissance right now, with amazing mobile kitchens popping up at breweries, outdoor concerts, farmer’s markets and nearly everywhere folks are gathering outdoors for springtime fun. Here are just a few food trucks we’ve been loving recently. As COVID restrictions relax, we encourage eaters to keep celebrating small businesses like these and enjoying al fresco dining while our local temperatures remain pleasantly not-too-steamy!

Miss Katie’s Sweets –  All of the wonderfully indulgent deep-fried treats you might expect to find at a state fair, plus some fantastic creative inventions, like Chicken & Funnel Cake, and Funnel Cake Fries!  We love food innovation, and their funnel cake-focused food innovation is next level!

Don Sazon Empanadas – Handmade Venezuelan empanadas with a great variety of fillings that’ll satisfy everyone in your group, from meat-eaters to vegans and all in between. We particularly love the guava and cheese empanada.

Madrigal Tacos – Super flavorful tacos, bowls, and tostones to spice up your day. We love their rotating menu of taco options and other specials, like their Cubano sandwich, but the plantains are our fave!

Bits & Bytes – Wing fans rejoice! In addition to fire burgers, Bits-n-Bytes serves up award-winning wings tossed in their signature sauce (with a few other sauce options as well – but go for the signature) alongside some truly outstanding fries. They’re doing the classics and doing them right!

My Big Fat Greek Trailer – This cheery Greek fam is spreading gyro love all over town! They serve their gyros just the way you’d get them in Greece – with a hearty helping of fries tucked in with the fillings. Don’t sleep on their yummy Greek pastries and other popular items like spanakopita!

Hustle – This big pink truck offers up some great options for folks looking for some lighter, brighter bites in the form of sammies, tacos, and sliders – plus several options for the meatless eaters among us! Also check out their delicious smoothies featuring omega-packed Blender Bombs.

If you’re feeling the vibes of Charleston in the spring and are looking for more great ways to enjoy soaking up some sun while enjoying some of Charleston’s culinary best, don’t forget to book our Upper King Street tour! It’s the perfect way to enjoy the sights and sounds of Charleston in the spring while walking to some of the city’s most popular dining locales.
