shrimp crabcake Charleston, SC has become the new food capital of the South, combining fresh produce available all year long, chefs who are fanatical about the quality of their ingredients and a budding commitment to sourcing the freshest local ingredients. Soul, Classic Southern and Gullah influences, its proximity to the ocean, and extended growing season all help to develop an eclectic and vibrant culinary melting pot.

Downtown Charleston's historic appeal is well known. It boasts the largest historic district in the United States. Charleston’s varied history, full of mystery, romance, southern charm and sometimes brutality, makes for an amazing historical walking and culinary exploration. Historic downtown is perfectly set up to travel by foot. For eighteen consecutive years Charleston has been named a "Top 10" travel destination in the United States and was voted the number 1 travel destination in the United States in 2012.

Featuring the Upper King Street Tour!

The Upper King Street district has enjoyed tremendous growth over the past decade and, within the last few years, has emerged as a center of culinary innovation in Charleston.  Eclectic and experimental, many of Charleston's up-and-coming chefs have gravitated to Upper King Street to establish their place in the Charleston culinary landscape.  More residential in nature, the neighborhoods in Upper King Street offer all the grace and charm of their downtown counterparts, but feature shops and hip restaurants that cater to locals and tourists alike.

Probably the best money I’ve spent on food before. It was great to get a tour of the city with someone who had good insight and kept it food focused. I learned a lot of interesting facts and ideas about Charleston and the cooking styles...Come hungry (very hungry), wear some walking shoes and push back your dinner reservations to the very last seating if you eat dinner at all.
